My family and I visited Michigan's Mackinac Island, the quaint idyllic setting for the famous Grand Hotel, many, many years ago. My daughter claims she spent one of the best days of her life there, horseback riding, buying fresh saltwater taffy from the candy store and getting her first ever carriage ride.
That vacation stuck with me and has become the inspiration for a new trilogy set on my own Lake Superior fairyland, Maribelle Island.
Right now, I'm writing the first of the three stories, and the characters, I hope, will entertain you and warm your heart. Watch for A MARIBELLE ISLAND WEDDING, TRUE FAIRYTALES, and WISH UPON A SUMMER coming, tentatively, in August, October and December of 2009.
